Understanding Accreditation

Accreditation is an official recognition or authorization of an institution's commitment to maintaining quality and conformity to established standards. For religious institutions like TSOBI, this accreditation underscores our dedication to delivering an education rooted in biblical principles and the mission of advancing God’s Kingdom.

Theological Education and Accreditation

It is important to understand the distinct roles of secular and religious accreditation. TSOBI does not pursue accreditation by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE), as theological degrees offered by TSOBI are not designed for government-licensed positions, such as public-school teaching or state-licensed counseling. Instead, TSOBI focuses on preparing students for ministry, prayer, healing, and deliverance under a spiritual mandate that is not subject to secular standards.

Separation of Church and State

As a theological institution, TSOBI stands on the biblical principle of the separation of Church and State. Religious institutions are not legally required to pursue secular accreditation, as their mission, curriculum, and spiritual purpose differ significantly from secular educational standards.

Authority from Heaven: TSOBI derives its authority and recognition from the Church of Jesus Christ and adheres to the standards outlined in Scripture, not secular governing bodies.
Biblical Mandate: Secular agencies are not equipped to assess the spiritual and biblical integrity of theological institutions. As 1 Corinthians 2:14 states, “The natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God… because they are spiritually discerned.”
Purpose and Mission: TSOBI's mission is to raise up laborers for the harvest, equipping them through Spirit-led instruction and training for ministry. We do not seek validation from secular entities but remain committed to our divine mandate.

Accreditation is Not the Sole Measure of Excellence

Historically, many notable theological institutions were unaccredited for years yet maintained a legacy of excellence in theological training. For example, Dallas Theological Seminary was unaccredited for decades, yet its graduates—such as Dwight Pentecost, Charles Ryrie, and Chuck Swindoll—demonstrated the unassailable quality of their education. Accreditation is an important acknowledgment but is not the defining factor of an institution’s effectiveness in equipping students for ministry.

If you are pursuing theological education for ministry or spiritual growth, TSOBI provides an exceptional and Spirit-led learning experience. However, if your goals include employment in government-licensed positions, such as public school teaching or counseling, please verify the specific requirements of your intended organization or employer before applying. TSOBI is committed to transparency and excellence, empowering students to grow in their calling and fulfill their God-given purpose.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

The purpose of The Sent Ones Bible Institute (TSOBI) is to equip believers with biblical and practical training to advance the Kingdom of God. We exist to raise up leaders who will fulfill their God-given purpose, minister in the power of the Holy Spirit, and impact their communities, nations, and the world for Christ.

We aim to:

Train and Equip believers for effective ministry under the five-fold apostolic mandate.
Engage in Prayer, Healing, and Deliverance to bring spiritual transformation.
Teach and Demonstrate the Word of God with clarity, power, and purpose.
Foster Unity and Collaboration among believers for the advancement of the Kingdom.

DOCTRINAL STATEMENT

At The Sent Ones Bible Institute (TSOBI), our mission is to equip believers with a solid foundation of biblical truths to fulfill the Great Commission and operate under the five-fold apostolic mandate. Our doctrinal statement reflects the principles and spiritual truths revealed in God’s Word, centered on prayer, healing, deliverance, and discipleship.

THE WORD OF GOD

The Seed
The Word of God is the foundation of Christian life, faith, and ministry:

"The seed is the Word of God." (Luke 8:11)

The Scriptures, composed of the Old and New Testaments, are the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. They are the ultimate standard for teaching, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness and are unchanging in their truth and purpose:

"Forever, O Lord, Your Word is settled in heaven." (Psalm 119:89)

THE TRIUNE GOD

The Lord of the Harvest
We believe in one God eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

GOD THE FATHER:
The Creator of heaven and earth, sovereign and perfect in all His ways:

"For thus says the Lord, who created the heavens; God Himself who formed the earth and made it... I am the Lord, and there is no other." (Isaiah 45:18)

GOD THE SON, JESUS CHRIST:
Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, born of the virgin Mary, fully God and fully man. He was crucified for the sins of humanity, rose from the dead, and ascended to heaven, where He reigns as Head of the Church and intercedes for believers. He will return in power and glory:

"That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow... and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord." (Philippians 2:10-11)

GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT:
The Holy Spirit is the Comforter and Advocate who convicts the world of sin, regenerates believers, empowers them for witness, and equips them with spiritual gifts for ministry. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is evidenced by power for service and spiritual gifts, as outlined in Acts 2:4.

"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me..." (Acts 1:8)

MAN

The Sower
Man was created in the image of God but fell into sin through Adam, becoming separated from God and incapable of salvation apart from Jesus Christ:

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)

Through Christ, man is redeemed and restored into fellowship with God.

SALVATION

The Harvest
Salvation is the gift of God, received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. It brings forgiveness of sins, freedom from bondage, and eternal life through the Holy Spirit:

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God." (Ephesians 2:8)

THE CHURCH

The Laborers
The Church is the Body and Bride of Christ, called to advance the Kingdom of God through teaching, discipleship, and the demonstration of His power. The mission of the Church is to fulfill the Great Commission by proclaiming the Gospel and making disciples of all nations:

"Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature." (Mark 16:15)

The Church is empowered by the Holy Spirit to operate in miracles, signs, and wonders, demonstrating God’s power to transform lives.

THE CONSUMMATION

The Final Harvest
We believe in the visible return of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the dead, and the judgment of the righteous and the wicked. Those in Christ will dwell eternally in the presence of God, while the unbelieving will face eternal separation:

"For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout... and the dead in Christ will rise first." (1 Thessalonians 4:16)
